[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
Can anyone tell me how to get Nestopia to open with Xbmc in True full screen mode. I keep getting errors, but if I try to open Nestopia with xbmc in windowed mode, it works fine. Also how can I get back to xbmc once I exit Nestopia.
hello angel, I'm wondering if I may reach some kind of limit to launcher and game I can add....
I'm asking this because this last time I had some really weird issues:
suddenly a lot of my launcher simply disappear!! I did nothing and they are just gone.....
but this morning is even stranger: my nes launcher transform itself in pc engine launcher....yes I use the same emu ( mednafen) but rom are not in the same folder !
the weirder is that my nes launcher now got nes AND pc engine rom mixed together!!!

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=6235

and

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=6236

but I'm not sure it show something...
now I back up regularely my launcher.xml, because it seems that it is this file who mess thing up....
do you have an idea?
can advance launcher read wrong some stuff because I use the same emu?
I was wondering if it would be possible to hide launchers? I have Hulu & Netflix setup as launchers in favorites, but I would like to keep them separated from my games. Or, maybe running two different instances of Advanced Launcher in Eden?

You can duplicate Advanced Launcher addon to use different instances of Advanced Launcher on the same XBMC install.

Which errors are you getting exactly? Huh

Does your F: drive still present? Because first log file report that error message for your NES games :

Code:
unable to stat url F:\jeux\SNES\images\Yuujin - Janjuu Gakuen (J)_thumb.jpg

Then you also have a lot of error messages related to XBMC watchdog service.

Code:
ERROR: Exception in thread Thread-4:
                                            Traceback (most recent call last):
                                              File "C:\Program Files\XBMC\system\python\Lib\threading.py", line 532, in __bootstrap_inner
                                                self.run()
File "C:\Users\titi\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\service.watchdog\watchdog\observers\api.py", line 193, in run
                                                self.on_thread_exit()
                                              File "C:\Users\titi\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\service.watchdog\watchdog\observers\read_directory_changes.py", line 68, in on_thread_exit
                                                close_directory_handle(self._directory_handle)
                                              File "C:\Users\titi\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\service.watchdog\watchdog\observers\winapi_common.py", line 109, in close_directory_handle
CancelIoEx(handle, None) #force ReadDirectoryChangesW to return
                                              File "C:\Users\titi\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\service.watchdog\watchdog\observers\winapi.py", line 106, in _errcheck_bool
                                                raise ctypes.WinError()
                                            WindowsError: [Error 1168] lment introuvable.

I do not know if it is related. Watchdog description is : «This service will update your video and music library whenever you remove or add new files to your media sources. Update is instant to keep your library synced at all times!». So if this add-on is generating error, I'm not sure the integrity of your XBMC library will still preserved.

Could you post the content of the "faulty" launchers.xml file? Does the NES and PCEngine games are mixed inside this file or just into XBMC display?
the watchdog thing is a possibility as I have this addon for few time....and my problem are recents...
for my drive it could be off line sometime as it is an exterior usb drive ( and I keep telling windowws 7 to not stop it when it's not in use but I think he is quite stubborn!) but usually everything work fine as my system just wait for my drive to wake up....I will post you my launcher.xml as soon as I can....
the files are mixe in the display, normally not in the file because the rom are in two differents place...I'll do again theses launcher and keep you posted....
many thanks fr your help!
cheers

Okay I modifying the folders, so just to be clear, I make a the main game folder and then a folder for each image or can I just put each image in the game folder?

Syphon Filter 2 ----- Disc 1 ----- Disc 2 or Syphon Filter 2 ----- SCUS 4xxx (cd 1) and SCUS 4xxx (cd 2)
All your PSX images into the same folder.

Just wanted to check, is this the same for GameCube games and what is the naming convention? MGS Disc 1.iso?

It the same for any item files (roms) and it's not limited to a certain game platform. Naming convention is :

MGS.cd1.iso
MGS.cd2.iso
etc...

or

MGS.cd1.iso
MGS.cd2.iso
etc...

or

MGS-cd1.iso
MGS-cd2.iso
etc...

or

MGS_cd1.iso
MGS_cd2.iso
etc...

or

MGS cd1.iso
MGS cd2.iso
etc...
So I'm attempting to get Advanced Launcher to work similarly to what was posted on the original post with the steam games, however with a GBA emulator. I'm also using Cirrus Extended v2, but I have one major major issue. TheGamesDB (or any DB for that matter) is neither grabbing the Thumbs or the fanart for nearly all my games (I have about 450 gba roms). I can't figure why this is.

If anyone could help me out, It would be much appreciated. I followed the tutorial to the T, I have maybe 5-10 Thumbs of the 450 roms

Log file:

http://pastebin.com/SLVaSSww

edit: after doing a little investigating, the Confluence skin shows the Thumbs, but shows multiple versions of each ROM.

If the thumb shows under Confluence they mut show under Cirrus Extented. What do you mean by "shows multiple versions of each ROM"? Roms entries are duplicated or you have several version for each roms and these several version appears?

thx angel, since I remove "watchdog" everything is back to normal.
cheers
I created a launcher for my comic book scans and man does it look pretty, but the auto scrapers only got info for about half of my comics and half of those got the wrong info. I spent 3 days fixing the thumbs and titles for all of my comics (over 3000 scans). Most of my comics just have good thumbs and titles now. My questions at this point are :

1.) Is there an easier way to get all this info (fanart, release date, synopsis etc.) so I don't have to go through them one by one again and input it all in manually?

2.) How did u get your comics to show up in categories such as by series or by super-hero, rather than a really long list that takes several minutes to scroll through?

3.) Once I have my comics in order I want to make a game launcher. I don't have to make two copies of ALA as long as they aren't going to run at the same time, correct?

Thanks in advance for any help. Love this addon, just not so good with it yet.

No there is no easier way. The problem is not the scraper, the problem is the online comics databases on which the scraper is based on (bad search engine for example).

You have to create one launcher per series. You can also use the Advanced Launcher integrated search engine.

You can duplicate advanced Launcher : one dedicated for Comics and one dedicated for Games. Here is the tutorial : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gMFJcxdcEg. Just take care to rename the duplicate version of Advanced Launcher with a sufficient different name ( plugin.program.advanced.games for example) and use a text editor that support UTF-8 text format.

They show up now. I think they just didn't load right away. Still have the duplicate.

I have only 1 version of each ROM, but there are multiple entries shown for each, it also misses others

Could be linked the the XBMC cache that do not refresh automatically some time. If it is the case, you just have to close and restart XBMC and normally of the thumbs and fanart images will be updated.

. What do you mean exactly : it miss to scan some ROM (so items are not detected during scan... maybe you miss to indicate a file extension) or it miss to correctly scrap ROM information (do not correctly identify the rom name and so report wrong game information and maybe generate false duplicate entries)?
