[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
ECEC Wrote:Where are the db files located? I want to take my scanned roms to a friend's house. All of the paths are the same and everything, I just don't want to have to rescan everything over there.
Advanced launcher do not use db files. If all the paths are exactly the same (for roms, thumbs and images) you just have to copy/paste the launchers.xml file ad it may works.

.lnk files support
You will now have the possibility to use .lnk files as roms to start windows games or applications. When creating the launcher, select an application (this application will have no effect, but we need to select one), for the argument indicate "%rom%", and for the extension file, select lnk. All the .lnk files need to be into the same folder. Notice: The wait state option will not works with the .lnk files.
hi Angelscry!

i am launching my lnk-files with my own shourtcut-launcher, which does a few other things too (e.g. loading a xpadder-(gamepad)-profile, if present).

of course this isn't working anymore since Version 0.9.6.

would it be possible for you to somehow re-add the old behaviour, where the lnk file is launched with the stated application? maybe your could add an option in the addon-settings like "Launch lnk-Files (=windows shortcuts) directly", or even make a third type of launcher item, with has the new behaviour:
  • Standalone (normal PC executable)
  • File launcher (e.g. game emulator)
  • Shortcut Launcher
... leaving the "File launcher" with the old behaviour.

I don't know. It will not create some conflicts? Why do you want start another media player? You want to switch or keep XBMC in background? I will try to see...

Ok... I will try to see what I can do. Sorry, I did not though that people already used lnk files with the advanced launcher. Shocked
Angelscry Wrote:Ho... no, no, no... I think I was not clear. You do not have to mount your server thumbnails directory into the XBMC thumbnails directory. You just have to mount your SMB server somewhere into your system to have access to it using local paths. Something like that :
Code:
mount -t smbfs //server/directory/emulation/ /home/angelscry/emulation/ -o rw,username=angelscry,password=mypassword
Then you will be able to access your SMB server using the /home/angelscry/emulation/ path.

How do you access to your smb server iform your system actually?

Still same deal...

Mounting the drive like so:

Code:
xbmc@lucy-lu:~$ sudo mount -t smbfs //server/roms /home/xbmc/roms -o rw,username=xbmc,password=xx,_netdev,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777

The weird thing is I can add the roms by "Scanning for New Roms" and it does download a fanart jpg on the share.

Before I had:
Quote:-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1049088 2011-01-14 11:23 Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (U) [!].smc

and after scan I see:
Quote:-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 35091 2011-01-16 13:48 Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (U) [!]_fanart.jpg
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1049088 2011-01-14 11:23 Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (U) [!].smc

Then is fails with the previous posted error message:
Quote:OSError: (1, 'Operation not permitted', '/home/xbmc/.xbmc/userdata/Thumbnails/a/a8525621.jpg')

This point is that the initial scan is able to download the jpgs, I just have to try to remap the Thumbnails mount as you suggest and see if it helps.

Though zsnes still bails when I try to load the imported rom.

Quote:13:57:09 T:3078936448 M:1852289024 ERROR: GLX: Same window as before, refreshing context

How does one enable logging with zsnes?

EDIT: I tried mounting the server on a mount ie: /home/xbmc/server/share/Thumbnails and then made a sym link to this directory in the userdata directory still no dice. Same error.

My wife likes boxee for the social integration and also for the kids. It has alot of content from the web for kids etc.. so I would like to have xbmc running and then on the main homescreen a label for boxee. then have xbmc either close or minimize and run boxee. Then after boxee is closed/exit xbmc comes back up fullscreen.

I know this can be done with a remote function and mapping the remote however I would like to use the launcher to be able to do a custom home label to integrate it.

Best solution for this is BATCH files. I have managed loading steam games, tracking the process and even closing steam or any other secondary APP after closing the game with BATCH files. Then you might even make an .lnk for the batch file so it doesn't show the ugly DOS window

running on full desktop ubuntu 10.04 (in my sig is my equipment)

Version 0.9.9 :
This new version add an option to activate/deactivate the internal support of .lnk shortcut files.
This option is only available for Windows users into the advanced option menu of the launchers.

SophT wrote a script to put Hyperspin on his Main View. It closes XBMC completely so there is no conflict between XBMC and Hyperspin (or in your case, Boxee) for Direct3D. When Hyperspin/Boxee is exited, the watcher launches XBMC again.

It's programmed around the Aeon Skin, but it shouldn't be that hard to add it to any other skin.

Hope that helps!
