For windows there was some code from the user "Harson" on page 430, which used the dos command "nircmd" which puts windows programs to the foreground/background.
You should search something similar for OSX.
Thanks, I'll look into that. I doubt I'll find anything though, there's very little support for OSX and I'm not skilled enough to figure these things out on my own lol

Everything I access is over a network share without drive letters. Rom Collection Browser seems to work this way, but using Advanced Launcher (i want to give this a try) it just doesn't find anything after I've pointed to the network shares for directories. No, it should and will not work without a drive letter.
Before I go into debug and paste logs, should everything work over a network share without a drive letter?
edit: using drive letters for shares works fine, but i prefer not to have that setup on all of my xbmc stations if possible.

Really frustrating because I feel like the solution is right under my finger tips. Thanks anywayYou can also take a look into XBMC video settings. Under Windows you must set XBMC into "Use a fullscreen window" mode rather than "true fullscreen" mode if you want to avoid focus/minimizing windows problem. Under Linux this mode selection is not present (because not needed). But... for MacOSX systems I do not know if this mode selection is present or not.
Anyone else have an idea?
Otherwise, you will have to use some scripts that will start command line or small applications that will switch the focus between XBMC and the started application.
There's no such option in XBMC on mac. I can only choose Fullscreen #1 and Windowed
