[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
Has anyone tried launching BLUESTACKS android emulator from the launcher? Just curious if it could run android apps under win7 via XBMC and launcher. Likely a convoluted path but some apps are only available this way.
I have a Problem to start ZSNes. When I make a double click or make more clicks on the ZSNES Item in
Advanced Launcher, the Launcher will start more than 1 Instances of the ZSNES Emulator. So the Emulator crashes (I Draw error) and I must close all Instances via the Taskmanager. Can anybody help me Huh?Big Grin

Please post here the content of your launchers.xml file (using pastebin service), so we will know if you have setup your launchers correctly or not. Also, do you close previous ZSNES process before starting a new one?

I have not tested personnally, but according to this webpage (http://superuser.com/questions/630265/re...hd-run-exe) it's possible to start apps from BlueStacks using command line like this one :

Code:
HD-RunApp.exe Android com.nubee.valkyriecrusade com.nubee.valkyriecrusade.GameActivity

Because the apps files are stored into BlueStacks, it will not be possible to use Files Launchers for that. It will only be possible using Stand-alone launchers configured like this :

Application : HD-RunApp.exe
Arguments : Android com.nubee.valkyriecrusade com.nubee.valkyriecrusade.GameActivity

But it has to be tested... Undecided

All Processes where closed before I run the Emulator ! If I click once the Emulator runs fine and I can close it normally. If I do more clicks in a short time(Second) the Emulator starts more instances an crashes ! This happens also in Rom Collection Browser ! Is this a Problem in XBMC ? Can anyone agree this ?

First try to setup the launcher correctly using this setup information : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?ti...ES#Windows
If the problem also occurs with RCB, it could be effectively be a XBMC/system problem. But honestly, I did not see what could the the reason that will start an application 2 times. If you start the application using the keyboard or a remote, does it have the same effect?
I have configured ZSNES with this settings !
Yes... If I use Mouse, Joypad or Keyboard it has the same Effect ! In other Emulators with longer boot time like
Playstation 2 or Nulldc the Launcher starts the Emulator well ! But in Zsnes or SNes the Emulator crashes with Advanced Launcher because there are more than 1 instances ! Can you programming a Check whether Advanced Launcher has started the Emulator or not in a short time (1 - 2 Seconds) to run the Emulator only once ? Or can you block all inputs to Advanced Launcher when it has the order to run the Emulator after input ?

I will not program anything. Advanced Launcher is already coded to only launch one command line (aka start one application at the time). So, there is no reason into Advanced Launcher code to add a check function. Concerning the input point. Once the application is started, XBMC do not have the focus anymore, so the input of XBMC and Advanced Launcher are blocked. But... this kind of problem has already happen in the past, but only with devellopement version of XBMC. Which version of XBMC are you using? With which version of windows?
i am using XP with Frodo 2.2
You seem to be the only one having this problem, so it's probably a problem on your side of things. Maybe you keep double clicking instead of clicking/pressing once on your mouse/remote. No need to patch AL for what can be circumvented by using it properly.
Maybe you can try to reinstall XBMC. It seems that there is a problem in the way XBMC start the add-ons. Or as Tuxon86 suggest, try to check the if your clicking parameters are enough fast to be interpreted as a double click instead of 2 consecutives clicks.
Afternoon,

Ive just changed over from XBMCBuntu to Windows and have gone to set up advanced launcher but none of the emulators are starting full screen. So far I have:

Changed the windowed mode / full screen in System
Turned off and on the XBMC windowed mode in Launcher settings
Started the emulator in a separate instance and full screened it but it reverts back to a small corner of the screen in Advanced Launcher (however RCB seems to open in Full Screen when I tested with that)
Looked through the zsnes config to see if a force full screen option could be enabled.

Any thoughts beyond this?

Have you take a look a the WIKI page (http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page) to setup correctly your launchers? Because if your emulators are not starting into fullscreen it is just because the launcher's arguments you have set are not the correct one for your system. It has nothing to do with Advanced Launcher. Advanced launcher is just launching a command line and do not check if the started application are into fullscreen mode or not.
Version 2.1.0 : This new version of Advanced Launcher add an option to directly open Advanced Launcher into default category. This option is located into Advanced Launcher Display options settings. This option could be activated for users who do not need to use categories features, who only use the default category and want the directly open Advanced Launcher into it. This version also fix the launchers.xml file tree to validate it. Finally this version update the french translation.

Changelog :
  • Add an option to directly open Advanced Launcher into default category.
  • Update launchers.xml file format.
  • Update french translation.
I have a few questions. I love advance launcher for my games and roms. My questions are about comics, books, and magazines. most of my problems is my collection is so large it rules out a lot of fixing things manually.

First question is about comics. My main problem is folder structure. mine is
comics/publisher/batman(tagged)/series/series [year]/batman 1.cbz
I use comicrack to grab all info from comicvine and I tag all comics so they go into the correct group like action comics is tagged for superman so it would be
comics/dc comics/Superman/Action Comics/Action Comics 1938/Action Comics 1.cbz
Is there any way I can keep this folder structure? I can't think of any way to add my comics without them all getting grouped together.

My next question is about books. is there any plans to add a scrapper for them? Or is there any program that will save metadata as .nfo for advance launcher to read it?

It's pratically impossible to change the actual Advanced launcher structure (categories/launchers/items) or customize it depending the kind of content you want to display (games, apps, books, websites, etc...). For what you want, I think it will be necessary to create an add-on only dedicated to comics. Advanced Launcher allows you to start all kind of content, but if you want specifc dedicated options a stand alone will do a better job (like RCB for roms management).

To make a good scraper we need first to have a good database. Do you know a good online and free books database? The only software I know concerning book managing is Calibre... but I don't know if this one allow to export book information into .nfo files and if it is possible to define the structure of these NFO files as we want to be compatible with Advanced Launcher.
