My main interest is with emulators. I currently have some consoles completely setup with descriptions, fanarts, and thumbnails for the US version of their roms and it has been royally a pain in the butt to setup.Just a question. Why I would want to have my Advanced Launcher exactly setup like yours? Beauty of Advanced Launcher is that users can use and setup their HTPC system through XBMC exactly as they want not as everybody must have it.
A good idea in my opinion would be to create a site similar to thegamesdb and use a common base naming set (like the good tools naming scheme) for the database. Have the site host all the scrapping information and allow registered members the ability to add to the database with their own thumbs, fanarts, descriptions they've been able to collect from the other various sites.
I know it's just a thought, but if anyone has the resources to set the site up to be implemented into Advanced Launcher, I think it would be very convenient.
If you want to add Advanced Lauhncher's application setup : complete the WIKI pages with the missing information -> http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page
If you want to scrap console game data : use the scraper included into Advanced Launcher you want.
The database related to the scraper you are using miss some information : just complete it -> http://thegamesdb.net/register/
If you want an XBMC add-on that manage your roms : use RCB -> http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=70115
I don't think it will be necessary to create a specific website.

Has anyone made a simple guide to follow to make firefox launch in full screen mode to a set website? You are not founding it because there is no command line to launch firefox directly into fullscreen mode. Use another browser : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?ti...b_Browsers
Main reason I was thinking that is that I know that the scrapers aren't 100% accurate when it comes to looking up the right title for a particular rom. Again, it comes down to the inconsistent naming conventions used. While I agree a specific website dedicated should not be necessary as sites like thegamesdb.net should have alt title names using established naming sets (goodtools for example), unfortunately none of them do. More often than not, either the wrong title is grabbed or the wrong thumbs/fanarts are grabbed, forcing you to go back through to find the mistakes made. It is something I should probably ask the scraper sites to possibly implement instead.
With the same setup, descriptions and box covers I assume should be near identical for a particular rom, which I guess would have been a better way to word the question I had as opposed to just asking for copys of entire setups.
As with RCB, I did try it, but did not like the setup nearly as well. The configuration is not nearly as well organized or easy to make changes with. Also, it doesn't offer the ability to launch actual PC programs/games as advanced launcher does.
Thank you with the quick reply on my questions and the continual great work on this program.
- The file naming convention used is not good enough.
- The datase refering indexation is not good enough.

Does it not save nfo files when scanning new items? No, it doesn't save NFO when scanning new items. But you do not even need to save them one by one. Just select your launcher, go into its context menu > Edit Launcher > Manage Items list > Export items data to NFO files. Then it will automatically export the NFO file of the related launcher's items. Here is the corresponding video tutorial : http://www.gwenael.org/Repository%20Arch...rial09.php
