[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
(2014-05-18, 16:13)Indyplumber Wrote: Advanced Launcher has given me hope of a wife approved box. Since the Hulu add-on isn't working I was able to create an advanced launcher to launch the Hulu Plus app in windows.
But is there any way possible to get the Hulu Launcher to show up on the Home screen under Videos like the Hulu Add-on did? This could be a deal breaker. Things like Hulu and Netflix
need to be one or two clicks away or it won't work in the house.

like this

You need to use a skin (or a mod) that allows you to create menu entries from XBMC favourites. Then into Advanced Launcher create a favourite of your Hulu launcher (select launcher > press "C" key > add to favourites) then add it as menu entry.

So you can try to create a Sega Arcade games launcher using AM2 emulator and scanning all the AM2_AM3 games and then edit each AM3 game and indicate an alternative application and/or argument for each.

Hi Angelscry,

Finally got round to doing the above and it worked great, many thanks - went a step further and put all the Sega games in with other arcade games with Mame as the default and then made the alternative application either the AM2 or AM3 emulator for certain games as needed.

Slightly off topic, but do you (or anybody else) use the Sega AM2 emulator? I can't find a way of closing the emulator using the keyboard (Escape takes it out of fullscreen to window mode and then you have to use the mouse) and then return to XBMC - if you have any ideas that would be great?

Also, I noticed when editing the emulator or a game etc... when you change something it goes back to the list so i.e. I have my list of systems/emulators, I bring up the context menu, go to modify data, change the name for instance and it goes back to the list of systems and if I want to change something else I have to go through the same process. This may be XBMC rather than Advanced Launcher, but it would be useful if you could change a field and it remains in that window so i.e. I can change the name, then the studio, select a new description file etc... in one go. Would this be possible in the future or is it more to do with XBMC?

Many thanks again.

Have you try ATL+F4 key combination? It could be also possible to write a small script that will force AM2 emulator to close using a specific key : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=43

I will take look... But I'm not sure it will be possible. An alternative for batch manually modifications is to use .NFO files.
Cheers, will give that a go
I am getting a addon.py script failed error when scraping for SNES roms. The scrapers work fine for both N64 and NES roms but the error only occurs when scraping SNES roms. I am using Advanced Launcher 2.5.2.

With which scraper do you encounter the problem?
So I just switched from Eden to Gotham and also from NOX to AEON MQ5. I am having this exact same issue. I have no resolution but have tried:

- confluence, nox, aeon me - all have this issue.
- tried various options in adv launcher - toggle to window, show batch. None help.
- have the XBMc window minimized, start external app manually. All is good.
- have XBMC in a window without focus start external app manually. All is well.

It worked fine with the exact same OS and external apps in previous version of XBMc and Advanced launcher.

This also is windows 7.

Not too sure where to go from here. Ideas? Might disable all addons to see if there are conflicts. Mike, did you get this fully resolved?

While it waits for the connection to establish, it runs in a small window, and the songs will play as they should, so I need to work out how to stop the app from going full screen I guess.

This is driving me nuts!

Do you have the same probleme if you use the "fullscreen window" rather than "true fullscreen" option that is present into XBMC video settings?
I am having some problems getting the sound to work in any of the applications started via advanced launcher. For it to work I have to change the audio output device under settings->system->audio output. But when I change it the sound in xbmc wont work after I am finished with advanced launcher and it is a real pain having to change between the two audio output devices all the time. Is there a way I can change this setting with a script?

On my system the two devices are called:
*HDA NVidia, HDMI - (works with advanced launcher and not with rest of xbmc)
*HDA NVidia, MEI Panasonic-TV on HDMI - (works with xbmc, but not with any applications started via advanced launcher)

Which version of XBMC are you using? Which version of Advanced Launcher are you using? Which operating system and version (Windows, Linux, Android, etc...) are you using?
Sorry the incomplete information. I am running the latest xbmcbuntu with Gotham 13.0 (no beta) and advanced launcher 2.5.2.

Have you try to disable the XBMC navigation sounds?
I assume you mean GUI sounds? Tried disabling it now, but there is no difference.

Ok... Sorry but I cannot help you more. Seems that you have a sound configuration problem under xbmcbuntu with XBMC that do not allow external application started from XBMC to play sounds. As Advanced Launcher do not have any control on your operating system setup or XBMC audio settings, you will maybe have a better help an answer reporting your problem to XBMC or xbmcbuntu developers.

Does pulse audio is correctly installed on your system? Which applications do not have sound?
Ok. Thanks anyway for your help!

Chromium and zsnes does not output any sound and I guess any other application I try to run though advanced launcher wont have it. I have the same issue when using xbmcbuntu OS, i.e, I get no sound when running any applications. I found one anomaly though. I tried to run mupen64plus through lubuntu since I couldn't get it running through advanced launcher, and it did give audio output (though no video output, only blackscreen). After one run of mupen64plus I did get audio in other applications as well, so it seems mupen64plus enabled something.

How do I get mupen64plus to run through advanced launcher? I looked at the wiki, but I am not able to run mupen64plus GUI, only console mode.
