I have the same issue when using xbmcbuntu OS, i.e, I get no sound when running any applications. I found one anomaly though. I tried to run mupen64plus through lubuntu since I couldn't get it running through advanced launcher, and it did give audio output (though no video output, only blackscreen). After one run of mupen64plus I did get audio in other applications as well, so it seems mupen64plus enabled something.Into Pulseaudio, check that the sound of the application you are using is not muted or redirected by default to a wrong output. You must have something like this :
Your problem is just an audio configuration problem of your system. I have just tested to start Chromium (v34.0.1847.132) from Advanced Launcher (v2.5,2) with XBMC (v13.0) of my Linux 64-bit system (Manjaro Linux, 3.12.19-1-MANJARO x86_64), and I have sounds.

- Gtk GUI Frontend : http://www.emutalk.net/threads/50438-Gtk...-available
- or CuteMupen : http://sourceforge.net/userapps/mediawik...=CuteMupen
