Super Favorites is a bit like playing "Lego" with your addons, it's not intended to launch executables.
Advanced Launcher was useful because it was a wild card that eliminated the need to develop a plugin for each executable. For example, there's a Steam Launcher plugin for Kodi, but you could theoretically do the same with AL, just add the Steam.exe with -bigpicture parameter so it launches Steam in Big Picture Mode.
From the beginning it was focused on launching emulators, but, considering all kinds of executables function the same way, the ability to launch different executables was a great side effect of the plugin.

In the installation instructions it says you can install the Angelscry repository for updates, but I think it's no longer relevant since I'd expect Angelscry to have disabled access to it.
