[CLOSED] Advanced Launcher - Applications Launcher Addon for XBMC
Odysseus Wrote:Hello, I'm trying this out for the first time today. As you can see from my specs in my sig, I use my monitor as my primary display and my HDTV as my secondary, the HDTV is where I display my HTPC apps. AL is launching Media Center and Hulu Desktop to the HDTV just fine for me, but when I exit those apps to return to XBMC it opens on the primary, despite XBMC being configured in Settings to open on the HDTV. Is there any way I can change this? I didn't find anything on the Wiki nor this thread. I thank you very much in advance for your help.
It seems that you have the same problem described here : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=95
Here is an application that allows to control monitor display under windows : http://www.12noon.com/displaychanger.htm
So you may be able to create a small .bat scrip that will correct your problem. Unfortunately, my system do not have the same specification as yours (I only have 1 display) so I cannot really help you more. Sad
Angelscry Wrote:Seems that the problem occurs when Mirror Edge is started from XBMC. So try the second solution using this command line :

Code:
CPAU -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD -ex "E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries\MirrorsEdge.exe -p" -wait
where USERNAME will be the windows login username and PASSWORD the login password.

OK, it solved my problem. Thanks a lot for your support, it's greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the feedback !!!
Announcing Advanced Launcher Disc Mod!
Image

This is a mod of Advanced Launcher to support multi-disc games. Multi-disc games conforming to certain naming format will be shown as a single disc. Clicking on the disc will open a menu with all discs of the game available.

Check the included readme file for info on how to install, but basically you copy the included launcher_plugin.py over, rename your multidisc games as directed, and then rescan that launcher for roms and it should handle everything else!

I'll upload a screenshot as soon as I get a chance.

*Note that I am a complete newb programmer so you use this at your own risk.
*This is intended to be a small hack, not a regularly updated project.
*To Angelscry: please let me know if you would like me to delete this post. I know some users wanted this feature (including me), so I hacked it back in to try and give something back.

Update: Added Screenshot (XBMC 10.1, Aeon Nox)

No.. no... I will not delete it. I'm really open to any suggestions, modifications and improvement to the add-on. I know that a lot of people asked for this feature, but I not an easy way and also the time to work on it. But, for sure... I will test it... If it's working great, and, of course, if you are agree, I will include it into a future version of the launcher. On which version of Advanced Launcher this mod is based on?
Hello,

can anyone tell me if there is a Step-by-Step guid how I can setup the Advanced Launcher to make it look like it does in the front page? What I'm talking about is this screenshot where you see different webpages from which I assume that when you click on them it will open a browser in fullscreen mode and the webpage is loaded.

I'm using Ubuntu Minimal with XBMC-Live. I'm able to install Chromium and start it via Advanced Launcher and I understood that I would need a HTML file for every page I want to shortcut. But where do I have to put them and what settings do I have to make in Advanced Launcher?

Thank you for your time

First, you have to put all the HTML files into the same folder. Then you have to indicate this folder as "Items Path" into "Files Launcher" advanced modifications menu :

I will try to add Youtube tutorial on this. But... you will have to wait the week-end to see it Wink.

Great! Thank you for your support and feel more than free to include the mod and edit it as you see fit (a lot of the code is based on code already in Advanced Launcher anyway). The mod was designed on 1.5.6 (as far as I know, the latest Dharma version) but I think it should be compatible with any version as long as the Advanced Launcher code isn't drastically changed.

Basically, it jumps into the start of the run_rom function and, if the rom/iso file includes the strings ".cd1", "-cd1", "_cd1", or " - cd1" in the file name (the same strings filtered by Advanced Launcher when adding roms), Advanced Launcher will look in the same directory as the rom for any other files with the same base name and list them in a select menu. It then passes the file selected back into the run_rom function to be processed by Advanced Launcher however it normally does when running roms.

Let me know if you have any trouble testing it as I've only tested it here so far.

Ho... Ok. I will repost the video but without the audio.
This has become something beyond just launching exes and rom's with info. Is there a way to have some direct link to differnt things in the launcher for prettier skin implementation. I'm talking about being able to link direct to a folder of "comics" and one folder of "games" and be able to use the return command on this. Would folders be something you plan to code in? And if so would it be possible to have some kind of fixed names for different folders so that the skin can link direct to them?

Like this: plugin.program.advanced.launcher/comics

May be fixed now.... Wink

Yes, of course, it is possible. You can add a launcher or an item (a game, a comic or an application) as favorite into XBMC, directly from Advanced Launcher settings menu :

Image

When this launcher or items is added to XBMC favorites, you can then directly acces it from favorite menus. As you see below, I have created favorites of : International Superstar Soccer '98 (N64 roms), Super Nintendo Entertainment Sytem (launcher directoy), Boxee (application) and Spiderman. Then I can directly access them from XBMC favorite menu.

Image

And then... if the skin you are using support it, you can add this favorite directly into your XBMC home menu :

Image

You also have the possibility to use several Advanced Launcher plugins at the same time. For example, one Advanced Launcher plugin dedicated to games, one Advanced Launcher plugin dedicated to comics, etc... This operation need to manually copy and edit some files... but not too complicated. You can replicate Advanced Launcher how many time you want. You will found a description of the procedure here : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=98

Image

Previous image present 2 advanced launcher add-on (version 1.5.2 and 1.5.6) running at the same time into XBMC. You can rename them or change there logo. Here I have duplicate the Advanced Launcher add-on into an Advanced TV add-on. I have dedicated this last one only to read internet TV streams (using stand alone launchers based on mixed rtmpdump and vlc command lines)

Yes it's working and it helped me a lot! Thank you. Unfortunately I'm not quite there where I want to be. I did it like you explained it in the video but the problem is that when I open a website it only starts Chromium but does not automatically go to the website I entered in the html file. I guess this is a problem with my script that starts chromium or with chromium itself. So I guess you can't help me with that. Sad
