How can I list my PS3 games? They're not executable from my PC, I just wanna list the ones I have but I find it hard to understand how this addon works.

To play PS3 games you need a PS3 emulator but such kind of emulator do not exist yet. You cannot play PS3 games.

What happen if you run XBMC and DVBViewer at the same time (but started independently). Do you also have lags?

Yep the same lages, so it looks like there seems to be a problem with XBMC itself.

Sorry if Im being stupid here, I had your advanced launcher setup working fine on Dharma some time ago and Im using AdvancedLauncher to soley launch PC games. I have my games stored as .lnk shortcuts and have favorited a folder created called Games to have in the main menu which takes me into this part of advanced launcher.

Anyway, Im not sure if its been my transition to Eden or just Iv lost my memory from when I first set this up- but I cannot seem to get any scraping to happen.

For example, I have just added Battlefield 3 to the folder- querying anything on this be it fanart, thumbs, or info, from anywhere as simple as google or thegamedb, it wont find anything. On repeating this on other titles I have scraped using google for fanart etc previously successfully- I get the same "0 results" answer.

Am I dont something wrong or is this something that could be faulty with my install or just a consequence of using the beta?

Yep the same lages, so it looks like there seems to be a problem with XBMC itself.

Ok... Your system is maybe not enough powerful to run XBMC and DBviewer at the same time, or maybe there is a rendering display incompatibility between XBMC and DBviewer. You have now 2 possibilities to try to fix this :

• Try to use a bash launcher (.bat) that will suspend XBMC before starting DBviewer and that will restore XBMC when DBviewer will be closed. Here is an example : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5

I have just make a quick test for specifically BattleField 3 on my side and all is working correctly. So if think you have done something wrong into your launcher configuration or into Advanced Launcher settings.



Since version 1.7.0 of Advanced Launcher, data, thumbs and fanarts settings menu have change. You need now to define a "collecting method". If you want to scrap data, thumbs or fanarts, you need to set this parameter to "scraper". Please check that these option are well activated.

Thanks for checking, yes I did descover these new settings and thought they were brilliant- but even more surprised when they wouldnt appear to scrape.

Youre right, it much be something dodgy on my end, Il start again and see how I get on.

Also, check if the BattleField 3 item is not already present into your launcher items list... but under another name. If you still encounter problem, please post the content of your launchers.xml file here using pastebin service.

Version 1.7.2 : This new version of Advanced Launcher mainly bring some text and string correction, cleaning and update. It add finnish and french language to the description add-on and bring back the french translation. Only new feature is the addtion of a filename display during launchers or items edition.

Quick question. I was having problems getting it to scrape for the sims 3 so I decided to delete it and try it again, but now it doesn't let me browse my computer for the files. It's only letting me choose my dvd rom drives??

Also, when choosing a game for PC windows 7. Do I choose the Windows/Mac Hybrid option when choosing platform?

No, if your game is for PC windows 7 you have to select the IBM PC Compatible platform. Selected platform is relally important when you want to automatically scrap game data and images. Scraper use the item filename and the platform to identify a game. If one of them is wrong, you will have problem to scrap.

Concerning the fact that you are not able to browse you computer for the files, you need fist the add your local drives as sourcves into XBMC (as for movies or music). You will foudn how to do it here : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=3#p3

i've spent hours searching and i can't figure it out. can anyone help me please.

i've set up advance launcher, I've got a directory containing links (shortcuts) to my windows games. these shortcuts are fine if i click them the respective game launches ok.

i have set up advanced launcher and the games and metadata and images are pulling through fine.

when i click on a game though, the program i have selected, explorer.exe, notepad.exe etc are being launched, not the game.

i have set the extension as lnk and chose ibm PC compatible.

this is driving me nuts, can anyone help or point me to a useful link please?

It's odd that when I first installed the plugin I didn't ever need to access any source since I'm using it on my computer. I usually only need to add sources when using a device such as ATV 2.

make sure your filenames are correct and nothing else added, like shortcut... e.g "Dead Space 2" not "Deadspace2 - Shortcut", i also got good results using gamefaq scrapers

If you are able to start explorer and notepad's shortcuts and in the same time not able to start games shortcuts, that's mean that there is a problem with your game short.

First, if you want help, it will be usefull that you give us more information about your system (Windows version?), about the games you want to start (roms? Emulators? DOS games? steam games?), and post also here the content of your launchers.xml file (using pastebin service) to see if the launcher is configuration is correct or not.
