Not yet. I wanted to get this version out with the present updates. I do have code in place that will simplify adding code to allow external scripts to be triggered from position of video - this is how I engage/disengage the auto refresh.

There was a fair bit of re-coding just to get the trivia intro and trailer downloader working.

Tried the download trailer feature tonight, but it doesn't seem to work right. I created a directory for the trailers to be downloaded to, and adjusted the script configuration, pointing it to my newly created directory. My trivia time is set for 5 minutes, but when I start the script, the trivia just goes on and on, well over the 5 minute time limit. Tried to press ESC to cancel a couple of times, but nothing happened, and the trivia continued. I found if I held down ESC, the current slide would freeze (although the background music kept playing), but I would eventually have to hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill XBMC.EXE to exit. Checking my download directory, I see that 3 trailer files were downloaded and 3 .nfo files created (which is what I had the script set to do), so that part seems to work. If I then cleared the directory, re-started the script and hit ESC before the 5 minutes was up, the trivia would stop and everything continues fine, except the trailers would stream.

Not sure if it had anything to do with the fixing of the trivia intro video, but I have no intro or outro videos configured in the trivia section.

I would need to see a copy of you xbmc.log(the complete log posted to pastebin) I set the script to fall back on stream if the trailers were not finished downloading.

Yes. The next version does have this ability, along with NFO files from its new internal downloader(from Apple Movie Trailers) and AMT-Lite NFO files. I'm testing it out now. Hoping it will be out later today.

My first time using the script, but I am definitely having the same problem.

Changes made in settings aren't saved - or at best, save sporadically...

Having the same problem too. The issue is not the settings being saved or not, rather when the script runs something is overwriting the settings. For example, if I save the settings then navigate to the script folder and look at settings.xml my settings are in there. If I then run the script and then go back to look at settings.xml some of the settings have been reset to default. Only way around it is to chmod -w settings.xml so it can't be overwritten.

Anyone else see this problem?

Is there anyway to disable the "Working..." message that pops up between movies that are played? Note this could be a confluence skin thing and not necessarily related to this script, but curious if anyone using this script has disabled it.

Though if you stop the script(or it crashes) before it is able to change the setting back, the settings will stay to the changes made by the script. The Trailer Playback Mode gets changed back with in a second of being changed(at the point that the script adds the trailers) and the Number of Features gets changed back once the script completes(the last video played)

Cool, thanks for the explanation, but that's not what I'm seeing, I'm seeing random settings being reset. For example, at one point the music volume in the trivia settings was being reset 100%, trailer folder reset to nothing, trailers changed from 3 to 1 was resetting back to 3, Intro folders being reset to defaults and more that I didn't take note of.

Now I will admit that during testing I would skip through each section with the next button (or return button to exit out of trivia then skip through trailers etc. and finally stop to exit out of main movie). For what it's worth I will note that having been a seasoned HTE user I can say that is pretty much the norm depending on who is in my HT at the time (ie the wife wants to skip previews or ending the trivia slides sooner than the allotted time) so that may be worth taking into consideration when doing things with settings updates based upon stopping/starting the script. Just sayin'.

Sorry if I'm asking a stupid question, but how does the new trailer download feature work? Does the script download new trailers in the background as XBMC runs? Or does it download/stream as it gets to that part of the script when starting a "feature"?
