Learning Capable? AVS Gear GP-IR01BK
#1
Has anyone been able to get the learning function of this remote working? My manual says it's possible and online I read it's possible but I can't get it to work.
(Learning ie as in using to control tv as well.)
If it isn't can someone recommend a decent one? Other than that this remote is great. Link below

P.S.

Would anyone know some kind of work around?

Thanks

If you want a universal remote the Harmony range seems the most popular, though they're a bit expensive. Your GP-IR01BK is a Microsoft compaible, so if you configure the Harmony to emulate a Microsoft handset (or MS multimedia keyboard) you won't need to change anything on your PC.

I bought a similar remote (Anyware) from newegg but wound up just using the receiver then adding a Philips universal remote. Just about all the newer Philips have a MediaCenter code. The Harmony's are great but they are expensive. It depends on how complicated your system is and whether or not you need macros to turn everything on and get to the correct inputs.
Mythbuntu doesn't need viruses - we have Sudo
