[LINUX] No Sound on Only MKV Files in Dharma 10
#1
Hi All,

Pulling my hair out here. I upgraded to Dharma 10 on Ubuntu Linux. Now I have no sound output on any MKV file I try to play. Here is what happens.

-Sound Works in XBMC
-Next I play an MKV File, Now is says "Failed to Initialize Audio Device"
-When I stop playback of MKV, now no sound in XBMC

I suppose the sound card is being held up somehow as XBMC stops playing sound until restart...

Curiously enough, the same MKV files DO play with sound in Movie Player outside of XBMC. All MKV Files worked fine before on a previous version of XBMC (Sorry can't remember which version )

Any Ideas? I'm at the end of my rope...

Thanks in advance!
Shane

I assume it's an ION2? I had the same problem. Getting XBMC from git and compiling myself solved the issue.

A complete purge, and reinstall fixed all my issues, now all mkv's play fine... go figure...

Same issue too, I think I'm going to reinstall XBMC as well, I've been having issues with .avi files having this same issue (but they won't even play in movie player in Linux, but they will in Windows)!
