Buffering issues with certain files
#1
I have a certain set of files that I encoded myself using Handbrake in h.264 using the x264 encoder.

These files are not playing correctly. They will start to play but then start to stutter and eventually go into full buffering.

The files are SD and only 1500kbit bitrate so network connection isn't the issue (the same ATV2 can play 720p mkv files fine).

I have attached a debug log to see if anyone can see anything in the log that could be causing the issue.

Anyone have any ideas? I have tried playing stuff that I encoded more recently and they have played fine, it is just this particular series that is the problem.

No worries. Will do it when I get home. Any recommendations for an easy program to do this on the mac?

ok just tried chopping the first 5 mins off the file using VLC. I just told it to pass both the video streams and the audio streams straight through into the output file. It only took a few seconds so I believe that this has been accomplished.

With the new file there isn't any skipping whereas with the old file it would skip approximately every 30s or so.

Here is a mediainfo snapshot of the troublesome file.

Here is a mediainfo snapshot of the file that works correctly (the one I created with VLC).

Can anyone spot anything that would cause this?

Hate to bump again but does anyone have any ideas? It is rather annoying to have to back out to the ATV default interface to watch certain files.
