The barebones model hangs around $110-$120 and the fully loaded one with windows 8.1 with bing and 2gb of ram and a 64gb msata runs between $180-$220 give or take the day. More storage on the ZBox and windows 8.1 for roughly the price that the chromeboxes started at is great. The Windows license itself is anohter at least $90+ another $50ish for the 64gb msata ssd. so yeah its a bargin to get the fully loaded zbox. I personally just spent some money on getting a used Thinkpad T420 which I have been using as a htpc when I am at home and a laptop on the go. so for me I don't really need another system for kodi since I can just run it on my laptop hooked up to a larger screen or just use the built in 14" one for watching.
Thanks, Zotac is nice but I am using X220 right now which is about to be replaced by T450s soon (I hope) so I can turn my X220 into HTPC if needed (I was actually planning to turn my wife's Ideapad S405, AMD A6-4455M, 14", 4GB RAM, Windows 8 and maybe let her use my X220 as her computer, since S405 has HDMI but my X220 does not. What do you think?
I need something at home with my son watching stuff all the time, plus it's a pain to plug everything on/off (I got it hooked to home theater, IR receiver, those hard drives, etc..).
