[Windows]External hard drive ignored in library mode
#1
Hi,

I added a virtual drive to my computer and the external hard drive on which part of my movies were stored had his letter changed from E: to F: (the virtual drive took the letter E: ). I noticed that when I launched xbmc and my movies were gone.

So I manually remapped my external HD to E: and relaunched xbmc but the movies are still missing. Updating the library didn't help. Funny is that I can access these movies in folder mode. Huh

Any ideas to help solving this issue?

Thanks.

If you had the library set to clean on startup it may have deleted all the records for the missing drive letter. You should be able to rescan it though.

Then there is no way to get back the movies without rescanning/rescraping everything?

When using external drives, always make sure that you export the library (each entry separate file option) so that even if the drive letters change, you can always import the library from the hard drive and need not download everything from the internet again.
