[ATV2] XBMC quits upon reading SMB share with *.rar in main directory; bug maybe?
#1
Hello,
I don't know if this is possibly a bug or just my share issue.
I have multiple SMB shares on linux server. They work perfectly with Ubuntu clients and XBMC installed.

When ATV2 connects to some of those shares it quits back to AppleTV main screen. After looking at the log I noticed that it quits whenever it tries to read *.rar file in main share directory. So for example:
my linux share is /media/music/CDs/ and there are multiple catalogs in here and at there is single rar file in main dir /media/music/CDs/skid_row.rar

Whenever ATV2 tries to read this share it quits upon reaching this single rar file and drops back to ATV2 screen. Restart does not help.

Solution is to remove that single rar file from main share dir to some folder.
Hope it makes sense Smile

I can reproduce that problem if needed.

ATV2, greenpoison 0.6 (win ver), xbmc 10.07 (Feb 19)

Yes,one rar was corrupted.
However that should not stop XBMC from scanning the share correctly.

And I can play rars fine too.

Smile I kind of expect that type of answers.
Thing is you are not understanding the problem correctly.
It is possible that I did not explain it correctly.

I am not trying to play a corrupted rar file.
It causes XBMC to quit when trying to open the share that contains that file.

corrupted files can do that. xbmc tries to read it, and barfs. sometimes we can error out and recover. other times it will kill us dead.
