Just thought I would share my feedback on http://www.maplin.co.uk/media-centre-ir-remote-385365
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 with XBMC and bought the above remote, exited out of XBMC, plugged in the IR receiver waited a few moments, loaded up XBMC and the remote was working no installing LIRC or anything else.
Works great on my mates xp system, and the colour buttons on his swap between movies, music, pictures I have yet to test this on mine.
Hopefully this will be of use to someone
