asus soundcard xonar dg
is supported bye
alsa driver 1.0.24 or kernel 2.6.38 experimental!
so I updated the driver in xbmc live cd from XBMCFreak 10.1 Lucid livecd’s
and if I give command sudo alsaconf
its find the sound card.
after that it,s says have a lot of fun!
bat at command alsamixer it says
cannot open mixer: No such file or directory
at command lspci

but why does xbmc live don,t see it.
on ubuntu notebook 10.0.4.2 it workt well.
anyone have an idea

I guess you don't have permissions to the audio devices.

Try

Code:

sudo alsamixer

If it works you just need to add yourself to the audio group.

Code:

sudo adduser yourusername audio
sudo reboot

Than you should be able to use alsamixer without root privilages.
