Hey
I got a ReadyNAS Duo which hold my movies, tv shows. etc. Furthermore, I got a Asrock Ion 330BD with Openelec RC4 installed. I have setup the shares via the SMB network, but when streaming the video starts to buffer escpacially if mkv files and HD materiale. I uses wifi (yeah I know, but wired is not an option).
Ok, so I am trying to resolve this. I have thought about two things. Fix the SAMBA share streaming or use NFS share instead.
1) SAMBA, the thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/archive/index.php/t-65788.html
mentions that installing smbnetfs on the system fixes the problem. Is this possible on my system and should I just SSH into the system and run the command: apt-get install smbnetfs
2) I got a dynamic IP. I looked at this guide:
http://www.openelec.tv/find-help/documen...ork-shares
but it only seems usable for static ip. Is there a way to do this for a static IP? Could I use the host name and how? Is it possible to add NFS shares from within the XBMC gui? Or should one SSH into the machine and follow the guide.
NFS seems to be the way to go since it allows for faster streaming so this option would be preferable but whatever works is ok.
Thanks
