Solved XVID/MPEG-4/MPEG-2 files in SD quality play in slow motion
#46
They are not the same, that's obviously clear - but one is strongly related to the other, especially in menus. So then - if no one cares, we can just close this thread.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

As soon as the Kodi 18 final is released, users will surely wonder what's going on. I think there are many more like me who use DVD via Kodi. Why can't you set the PR yourself? Unfortunately I am far too far away from Kodi development to be able to do that quickly ;-(

Quite easy: I don't run Android - and I don't want to fix the outtage if one will follow.

@peak3d @garbear Can someone step in here and put a PR for reactivating the hardware acceleration under Android?

Can you make sure enabling it will have zero side effects on any box and Android version?

Happy testing: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/14662 peak3d asked me to enable it. Let's see if your use-cases work with "just" enabling it for hints.dvd

Works fine for me. But I only tested it with my one and only sample DVD ("In Bruges"). So I can only say for sure that menu works for this one...

It will fail the very moment Decoder needs to Drain() ... for those cases users need to manually disable Mediacodec entirely then.

Could you please post a Debug Log?

Here's the debug log. Everything is working fine with DVD menus (kodi-20181021-ed6ba2b2-dvdandroid-arm64-v8a.apk).
