I'm going to stick with this version for now, until you advise otherwise. I'll be glad to test a new build for the issue when it becomes available. Also, let me know if you need any more info or log files. Thanks again!

I did the test also, and .0.5.8e didn't have the issues for me either. All the channels populated correctly, but it took an insane amount of time to populate the channels. I started the channel population at 6:55 pm, and for the 69 channels, it finally finished at 11:15pm, so it took a little more than 4 hours to populate.

Yup! and from my comparison between versions... the only change that accounts for the problem is duration parsing...

I changed duration parsing to increase channel building speed.. The way it was before (v.0.5.8e) had increased accuracy but was very slow.
The new method is faster, but relies on xbmc having accurately scraped information.

::Update::

I will add a setting to allow users the turn on "accurate duration"

Hello Lunatixz, I just updated to 0.5.9 and man is it beautiful, and fast! Thanks. I'm not seeing the accurate duration option you described here, have I missed it or is it coming later? Still having that guide issue. Thanks again!

its controlled by "find missing data", when enabled it will use the slower but more accurate duration parser first.

That is the weird thing, the only folder anywhere on this computer is the script.psuedotv.live under addon_data (my original screenshot) which does not have a resources folder in it. I've done searches, looked through tons of folders and there is nothing else for PTVL.

I've even searched for "resources" folder in the entire root, and it returns tons of other addons with resources folders, pseudotv is not at all in that list, anywhere.

First, for the past few weeks I haven't been able to get trailers to work anymore. When I started using PsuedoTV Live they worked fine in between shows/movies pulling from the default YouTube channel MovieclipsCOMINGSOON , I didn't change anything on my trailer settings and suddenly I get an error everytime it tries to re-add the channel (background updating) that the list value is out of range or whatever and it says it's coming from the getTrailerList for Youtube. However, MovieclipsCOMINGSOON is active on YouTube so I'm not sure why it would randomly stop? I had to turn them off because I was getting errors for every channel whenever they updated.

Second question, how do I install themes for PsuedoTV Live? I've looked everywhere but none of the instructions match my configuration. I'm using OpenELEC Linux with PsuedoTV Live, all I have is a folder script.psuedotv.live in addon_data and no resources folder: http://i.gyazo.com/b06e4e6a929f89d8f0ff7cdb5df625b8.png . So I'm not sure how I could get custom skins for it?

Thanks,
Ryan

The first problem seems like the media limit problem that others have been reporting when a channel is set to unlimited. Luna has stated that he has a fix coming with the next update (see http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid1947415 ).

I'm away from home at the moment, but trying looking in userdata rather than addon_data for the resources file (not sure which it is supposed to be in).

It is on the app folder. In the PTVL folder. Under "skins", then put the skin files into "Custom" folder.

absolutely not.

IMPORTANT:
The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.
The built-in channel configuration seems to be broken in this new update, or maybe I did something wrong Huh

What's happening to me:
- making changes to channels don't get detected? I've changed the media limit on some channels and the play order and it thinks I've done nothing. A workaround is to create a new channel which the configurator detects
- changing the playlist to random sets the play order to "2" instead of "random".

I'm not sure why, but I keep getting this despite rebooting Kodi.

Cant you hit cancel and still go into PTVL? I was able to do that yesterday and not do the upgrade till later

Cheers!
@luna,

Is there anyway to add an IPTV portal to the channel configuration? Something similar to what you input in STB Emulator (ex: http://iptvserver.tv).

the problem is the kids. if I am not at home and they want to watch tv they don't know to read yet.
https://github.com/Lunatixz/PseudoTV_Playlists <-- Playlists can be created manually through Kodi, or automatclly when using PTVL in-app manager... I posted my collection for those users who want to play around with different ways of creating channels. They are absolutely not needed in order to create channels, but do serve as a good base for creating complex channel lineups.

What makes you believe its PTVL thats at fault?

I ask because, my kodi screensaver works as it should. I don't have code that effects kodi's idle timer.

If you can find a direct relationship between your problem and PTVL I would be happy to fix it.

I believe that its PTVL because it is the only plugin i uninstalled and the screensaver started working again.

I will work on doing a fresh install and only install PTVL and see if that will point to the issue

OK Here is what I have tested here:

1: Deleted the .kodi directory from my user home directory (/home/xbmc/.kodi)
2: Started Kodi and let it update the addons that come with Kodi
3: Enabled Debug and reboot
4: Let the system idle after i rebooted and watched the screensaver start

Code:
17:51:23 T:140070523598784   DEBUG: CAnnouncementManager - Announcement: OnScreensaverActivated from xbmc
17:51:23 T:140070523598784   DEBUG: GOT ANNOUNCEMENT, type: 4, from xbmc, message OnScreensaverActivated

17:51:23 T:140070523598784   DEBUG: SECTION:LoadDLL(/usr/lib/kodi/addons/screensaver.rsxs.euphoria/Euphoria.xbs)

5: Installed your repo and then installed PTVL and its dependencies (and wow lots of dependencies Smile )
6: let system idle and the screensaver started
7: Setup some PTVL config (no channels, just options enabled) and tried to start it but was told system reboot, so rebooted
8: Let system idle on reboot and the screensaver didnt start
9: Waited 10 min and the screensaver still didnt start.
10: I removed PTVL and didnt reboot. The screensaver started on time 3 minutes later

Log for steps 4-7 - http://xbmclogs.com/ps6mlh48i
log for steps 8-10 - http://xbmclogs.com/p5bn3qzda

Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me

Morning Luna

Thanks for your latest update! Appreciate the work you do! The issue that I mentioned earlier is still present in 0.5.9. I did my latest test on an USB stick running KODIubuntu, so nothing would be installed by myself to cause conflicts. Here is my steps in this test:

1: Turned on debug and rebooted the machine
2: Changed screensaver from dim to euphoria ( i can test other screensavers but it was observed with dim and euphoria)
3: Waited and watched the screensaver start
4: Installed your repo and PTVL
5: waited and watched the screensaver start
6: Because i always have to reboot after an upgrade/install of PTVL so i rebooted here
7: Waited and the screensaver didnt start....had a shower and came back and it still hadnt started

At this point I havent even ran PTVL nor configured anything else in Kodi or PTVL.

Steps 2-5: http://xbmclogs.com/paa5gzozc
Step 7: http://xbmclogs.com/ppk4mbr4f

Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me. From this test, i cant see it being any other addon that I would have installed that is causing this issue.

Cheers!

It is on the app folder. In the PTVL folder. Under "skins", then put the skin files into "Custom" folder.

The path is "/storage/.kodi/addons/script.pseudotv.live/resources/skins/Custom" if using OpenElec.
And:
"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\script.pseudotv.live\resources\skins\Custom" if using Windows.
I'm getting a ton of error messages but I guess it's because of a new version? I've reported all of them through the popup.

I'm just gonna report two of my major issues right now:

x channels playing genres of music, only handful of them are working, all the rest don't work and don't show up on pseudotv - so I didn't include them in the last auto tuning.
x I made 3 channels using smart playlists, they have the same naming convention and work fine in kodi. In pseudotv one worked, two others didn't and I wouldn't stop getting error messages unless I deleted the two that didn't work.

I've only found out about pseudotv yesterday and got pseudotv manager (which I guess isn't updated optimally?), so many error messages in both programs.

edit: I tried just adding channels from my library to see if the errors would go (some I saw were youtube plugin related), but even then I get so many errors I need to shelf using and configuring pseudotv live until it's at least somewhat stable. My kodi crashes on every exit, and half the time my pc hangs while in pseudotv live. Is this somewhat normal or should I attempt a reinstall of everything? I get errors while autotuning, browsing, and exiting so I'm kinda worried ;p

edit2: I was using an option to insert youtube movie trailers between programs and that caused all the errors, I haven't tried music or internet tv anymore...
