Application to batch sort/rename media?
#1
Evening,

I have just moved all of my media over onto my FreeNAS box, however it's a bit of a mess and needs sorting (folder structure etc.) and files renaming to get it organised so that XBMC can deal with it properly.

Any recommendations for a Windows app which can do this? (Have the shares mapped as drives on a windows box)

I don't want something which will take control of my media, just something which will help break the back of this mammoth task - as I have thousands of film, tv and music files which need sorting.

Cheers!

The Renamer is pretty decent but the files or folders need at least a partial name for it to work.

Thanks! Big Grin

There will always be at least a partial name - it may be that the folder is named but not the files, or vice versa, but one or the other will always be true.

I'll give it a shot this evening and see how I get on...

This seems like a decent application - I'll give it a try for my stuff as well. Tnx.

I use one called Bulk Rename. It's fully featured with all sorts of stuff.
