[ATV2] Some basic questions
#1
Hello,

I'm new here and I have some basic questions:

1. I read in your FAQs, that I can reach the ftp-server on atv2 with xbox/xbox as user/password. But I cannot reach ftp ("ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server"). ATV2 is with ping available.

2. I started the web-interface on atv2. But I cannot reach it. Have I to do something too?

3. Where can I configure the rss-reader right below in the skin?

4. Where can I configure the time? I configured "region", but the time is serveral hours back.

Thank you for your support. I hope, after some weeks I can help another people in this forum.

Hello & welcome.

1) You need to use SFTP to get to the ATV2. The user is "root" and password is "alpine" if you haven't already changed it.

2) This needs to be enabled in XBMC first. Check your network settings, I think its in there.

3) That is greyed out for me at the moment. You could manually add to the XML file found in the user data directory on your ATV2.

4) Depends on what version of XBMC you have, if you have a nightly build, there is an option to set this in settings somewhere - not at my machine right now so can't remember the exact location.

2. You'll need to specify the port (i.e. 8080). So if your atv2 is at 192.168.1.10, the http interface URL is http://192.168.1.10:8080/

4. There's a setting in the main atv2 menu, under Settings > General > Time Zone (make sure that's correct). Then in XBMC, make sure you set System > International > Timezone country and Timezone.

Note that there's been some recent changes in how time zones are set on the atv2. The above is based on iOS 4.3 (8F305) and atv2 4.3.3 running the May 15 XBMC build.

2) have you enabled it in network settings, I don't think it is on by default.
4) if you have confluence skin, highlight setting, move cursor right and there should be an option to view system info..

Thank you.

XBMC main menu > scroll to System > click right on the atv2 remote > scroll to and click on System info. Note the "Compiled :" date at the bottom.

Someone hasn't been reading the faqs. Shocked

Hello friends,

thank you for helping me to understand the first steps.

I found, that I have
. ATV2 V4.1.1
. XBMC PRE-10.0 Feb 19 2011

What next step would you prefer: Only update xbmc or atv2 and xbmc?
