I recently upgraded my regular PC to a HTPC.

Silly enough I forgot to include IR in that, so now I am looking for a remote to use with XBMC (which is a wonderful suite, I must say !).

The remote therefore needs to be connected through the USB port with an IR receiver. (Currently I am using an original MCE Remote that i borrowed of some friend)

I hope some of the more experienced users can point me in the direction of a remote that would be good for usage with XBMC under W7 X64. (my budget would preferrably be in the € 15 - € 30 range)

Any advice would be really appreciated

My favourite is the original Microsoft remote, but the HP remotes are also popular. You'll need to go to ebay for the MS remote as they are no longer made by Microsoft.

According to http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=75288 the Konig remote does not use the eHome driver but instead sends MCE keypresses. This means it will work, but isn't as flexible as an eHome remote.

Not exactly a normal remote controll, but i really like the Cideko Air Keyboard. It's a full keyboard and mouse aproximately the size of a xbox controller.

MCE Remote is the way to go, you'll probably have to hit up eBay though.
