Hi. I can get my shuttle XS35GT to go into standby and wake no problems...

My question is, can i get the usb attached hard drive to switch off while it is in standby mode. Just seems pointless as its wasting energy

resume from suspend and standby I believe require some power to usb ports so you can resume either via keyboard or remote.

SO if this is the case with how you resume from standby I dont think you can.

Unless your motherboard supports resume from S3 without any power to any usb port...

again I may be wrong but my guess is either all or nothing. perhaps who else has your system can answer it better.
