I apologise if I'm creating a redundant thread but I've failed in my search for an existing version of this feature request.
I have many images in my photo gallery of modest resolution. For example, user icons and spot illustrations I took from blog posts. Let's define modest resolution as "less than the current display resolution."
They look ugly when their pixels are upscaled. When a "modest" image is selected, I'd like it to be left alone. Yes, some may think this is a recipe for squinting but it looks more elegant to me. Slideshow programmes like irfanView (win) and phoenixSlides (mac) understand where I'm coming from on this and have constraints that can be set.
I suppose as a compromise, there could be something like "don't upscale a pixel more that 200%."
Perhaps XBMC can be (or is already) made to to this?
