Need Advice for selecting a mini PC
#1
I was going to buy a 3rd ATV2 to add to my network but decided that a nettop PC would be a better choice for the room I need it in. I have no experience with these micro PCs. Primarily all I want to do is run XBMC and use my magicjack phone on it. I don't want to buy more than I need or less than I need. If I could get the same hdmi A/V quality as with an ATV2, that would be fine. I won't be doing much else with the PC.
Can anyone suggest a make and model that would be in a similiar price range as ATV2? There are so many choices with brands like Zotac. I'm kinda lost on which to buy.

I'm not sure you'll find something in a similar price range than the ATV2. They are quite cheap!

Maybe a Giada Cube : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6856176008

They often go on sale for ~140$. You'll still need a HDD and some RAM. And you'll still have to pay for Windows. Unless MagicJack works under Linux?

I'd recommend a Zotac ZBOX. This is what I'm running. It comes as a barebones system that you have to toss a lil RAM and HD in. This makes the device scaleable to your needs as far as what's required by you. But if this is a network workstation pulling from a server machine the storage required is almost nothing and shouldn't make too much of a dent in your wallet. All in I think my system ran (including shipping) about $350.

Here's a link to newegg for the zbox http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6856173028
