Either one.. I would prob go with your build for $1 more lol.. Quad core tho must run xbmc nicely.. I'm running 2 htpcs with triple core AMD processors and both run great.

i too, run XBMC on a triple-core CPU and its smooth!

however, the CPU Bluray listed is a QUadCOre too,

but not THE quad-core...

THE quad-core is the AMD A8-3850!

I have a question for you Eskro or Bluray this isnt HTPC related its just custom computer related.. This desktop is in my office but I do run xbmc on it cause the computer is also connected to my big screen tv to the side of my desk Smile

I would like to add more USB ports in the front and there is a spot where I can Idk what to look for or what its called on Newegg.. Uploading pics now to show you

Not sure why Image shack rotated my pictures but here is the front where you can see there is an extra panel I can pop out and ad say 3-4 more USB ports

Inside the case shot (Showing there is an extra slow to put something else) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/268/photo1sm.jpg/

Random Shots for good measure Smile

I'm looking to replace an e-350 that is really chugging running aeon MQ3 in library mode with tons of fanart, do you think this will handle that skin well? Is the APU strong enough or should i consider some type of nvidia graphics card? Running on my main desktop machine that skin with a full library loads everything instantly, i can scroll through hundreds of videos in the library and watch all of the fanart load and move on before i can even see it. Will this setup replicate that type of performance? Thanks!

Are you sure it's the e-350 that is the problem? Do you use SSD or HDD? I would suggest putting the skin and library data into a RAMDisk. You've got nothing to loose so see if that solves your issues rather than buying new hardware.

i'm glad that you added the a8-3850 in your list now, and it's one of my favorite apu! where is the price for a couple more silent case fans in your list? with it, it is more like $38 more for the a8-3850 system. if you think that 0.3ghz more worth $38, you can go for the a8-3850.

oh wait, the a6-3600 get even cheaper with the pre-built: Gateway SX2370-UR30P (PT.GCRP2.001) Desktop PC A6-Series APU A6-3600(2.1Hz) 4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity AMD Radeon HD 6530D Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit. this micro atx htpc included w7 and everything else. it's a complete system and it's fully ready for xbmc.
