XBMC Startup
#1
Maybe this is a simple fix but I can not figure out how to get xbmc to start up without the taskbar on the bottom to start up with it.

Then I have to take my mouse and click on xbmc down there to go full screen.

Anyway to make it start up without that taskbar down there? I have everything disabled from startup except xbmc.

Hi Toymachine2009,

I have the following added to my shortcut properties.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\XBMC.exe" -fs -d 10

-fs forces full screen -d10 delays startup

see if this helps

I'll see if that works too bluray although I have set my delay to 1 second so it's not noticeable what so ever.

If you set RUN to Maximized, you don't have to add any code in Target. Smile

silly question, but what happens if you toggle full/windowed mode using the backslash '\' key?

can this fix be applied to XBMC when it's told to start via the Windows green button?

I have my system set to have XBMC start when hitting the guide button on my Logitech remote, but for some reason, when starting my entertainment system from an off position (i.e. AVr is off, TV is off, computer is ON) it will power on my TV, power on the AV receiver, and then start XBMC. Somehow in this 3 part power on succession, XBMC will be full screen but it will be a black screen that is about 4/5 of the screen width, and I can see part of my start menu bar (the clock and so on). I have to exit XBMC, and then restart it manually. I know this is not XBMCs fault. Somehow the combination of the TV powering on, changing inputs, the AV powering on and changing inputs, and XBMC starting is causing this problem.

Ive tried contacting my remote's support line/forums and haven't been able to solve it. There seems to be no way (that i can see) to STOP the remote from sending a 'power on' signal to the computer. Ive tried setting a delay but it doesn't seem to solve the problem either.

Now the kicker is that when coming to the HTPC setup from another activity (say PS3 or Xbox) this problem is nonexistent. Doesn't happen. This ONLY happens when the TV and AV receiver are off at first.

I cannot figure out a way to stop the Remote from sending a "power on" signal (or green button signal) to the system.

That is Minimized and Maximized button, and it is different from launching XBMC in fullscreen.

Hi Folks,

i've the same issue, except i'm using Dharma and i still have the same problem.

I'm using a logitech harmony remote and the win+# shortcut to launch xbmc pinned on the task bar.

After the short cut launch, the task bar has focus still Sad

Yes , i tried your suggestion in both the shortcut file that i put in the autostart folder
and the xbmc.exe file in the installed xbmc map

However there was a win 7 framework update the other day
and maybe something changed in relation to xbmc 11.0,,

But i am back at darhma now and everything is awesome again Wink

I have no real reason to update to eden , darhma is working very good for me
