Trouble with NFS share on WHS 2011
#1
Hi,
Long time reader, first time poster.

I've recently completed building a WHS 2011 box, and have been successfully using it to stream media over SMB for the XBMC Eden Beta. I have been trying to set it to share over NFS as some of my HD files lag, stutter, and buffer using SMB. When the file is played locally, there are no issues, so It's not an issue pertaining to the XBMC client computer.

So. Back on point. The NFS share has been set as the Video directory on the server. Within the video directory is Films (avi, mkv, mp4 ect), DVD (DVD rips, mkv, avi, mp4, iso, ts, ect), TV (avi, mkv, mp4). Each sub directory contains the video files in folders, ie. Videos/films/Die Hard (1989)/Die hard (1989).mp4

The WHS 2011 machine shows up when adding content, and I can add the Videos directory. The videos directory is not openable.

Any ideas?
Can I provide any more information?

Thanks in advance.

Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging, and restart XBMC then wait a minute or two for all the startup tasks to finish. Try and open the problem folder, then after you get the error close XBMC.

Open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

Sorry for the delay in response. Busy days.

Here is the log as requested. http://pastebin.com/1SAwVsiv

I scanned through it, and there seems to be an issue mounting the NFS share.

Thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated!

Code:
RPC Packet not accepted by the server

Looks like a misconfigured server or firewall thing...

See here - someone got NFS with WHS 2011 working there:

Perhaps this guide is pertinent? I am going to try this tonight as I am having some issues with SMB using WHS 2011.
