If you are developing a add-on...please be smart about it! We shouldn't have to click through 10 different menus to finally get to a video!

It's all down to splitting up movies from tv shows, then what tv show etc. Else how are we meant to get to a certain show, then season, then episode?

Two things:
1. Is there a search?
2. Should be a shortcut to the most recent episode.

Some add-ons do have a search, but if you are using say an ATV2 like I am, it would take more hits to type in something like "How I met Your Mother" (21 presses) or "Family Guy" (10 presses) on the fiddly on screen keyboard than what it would be to just go TV -> A-Z -> letter ->show -> season -> episode (6 presses) and then after searching a show you would still need to pick a season and episode. Number 2 is a valid point though, never really thought of that, could always post in some add-ons sub-forums to put out the idea?

Try this for the most recent added with the confluence skin. System > Skin > Home Window options > Check the Show Recently added videos. You can also unhide Movies and TV shows which will allow them to have their own links on the home screen with more options for each.
For a basic search with confluence you can hold the shift key and type out the first few letters on the title.
