I'm in the UK (Essex) and very interested in stumping up some cash for the 60 LED Version.

Couple of questions...

1. XBMCbuntu = Supported? Or Windows only?
2. Once it's setup does it only function with the PC still plugged in. Can I rig it to work with my Sky HD box for example?

Quote: the device analyzes the color picture on the screen and produces a diffused light

On the page at the bottom, it also mentions the application is 'cross platform' if that's anything to go by, mention of Linux... But XBMCbuntu?

Im also interested in how it connects. Im more keen on having this for gaming (360) but it would be nice if it worked with movies and Pay TV too.

I'd buy it if it works with my Acer Revo XBMCLive and Xbox 360. Doubt it works with regular TV content, but I don't watch much regular TV anyway.

Hi, do you have a link ? My googlefu seems to be failing me Big Grin

Been looking into similar things as well lately. Was looking into DIY kits. I love the style LED's in this system. Pointing backwards to create a smoother light. My only question would be if they have anything available that works for a 50" tv. If they do, they have a customer.

Thats the DIY solution is was actually thinking about using. Which Arduino did you use? I supose you need at least 2 of those strips.

Stripes can be connected, yes, but some places sell them already 50 leds long.
Its not just about the leds count. Between leds there are about 88 mm, so a 25 long is just barely enougt to my 37' tv. But its just a tought to consider. Smile

I built an adalight but I have no idea how I'm going to mount them as I'm cackhanded at real DIY, just good at things involving circuit boards Wink

I've ordered all the bits n pieces and i'll be doing a blog on the following setup I'm working on:

- XBian Beta 2 on a Pi
- Hyperion running on the same Pi (http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?tid=11053)
- Set of LPD8806 LED strip

Will let you know how I get on, but in theory it should all work on the 1 Pi ...
