A8-3850/70K or Intel with discrete?? (will be light gaming aswell)

After having build a system with a A6-3500 cpu, and really being in bad luck, I have some reconsiderations...
The system ran fine as long as it lasted (due to too poor quality CASE and intern PSU), ended up blowing the HDMI port on Asus F1A75-i and the TV aswell Sad I will give you a review in short time... BUT do NOT buy "Linkworld 920", or any other product from Linkwolrd as far as I'm concerned...

The motherboard needs to be replaced and the Linkworld CASE should be squashed by a TANK'!

Now I'm going with a more qualitymined case (most likely silverstone lc19). Using a more expensive case, lead thoughts to more powerful system (can't deny I'm going to game on the HTPC once in a while).
Thinking of getting a a8-3850 or a8-3870k, but I'm concerned about the silverstone's 120w powersupply will do?
The system has 1x 3.5" Seagate 7200rpm 64mb drive, and a 2.5" 5400rpm drive, and sometimes a usbpowered externHD.
This test scares me... http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/dis...html#sect0 (keep in mind that they use a 880w PSU for testing :/)
and the G850 seems quicker and less powerconsuming leaving headroom for a discrete GPU?.

Could I be served better by a system like:
ASRock H67M-ITX/HT - http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=H67M-ITX/HT
Pentium G850 (or similar) with a discrete GPU. - Cheaper motherboard gives money to buy Intel + GPU roughly equal in price to the A8-3850.
6570, 6670 or similar?? Passively cooled or with quite fan.... (Would I gain gaming performance and would the PSU keep up with a setup like that??)

avoid ASRock H67M-ITX, has bios bug we think since
many users receive MACHINE ERROR message at boot ups...
avoid...

How about this low power/powerful "Intel Core i3-2125" and "ASRock H77M-ITX LGA 1155". i3-2125 is equipped with 3.3GHz core and HD3000 iGPU......

Here is the comparison...."A8-3870K vs i3-2105...Intel i3-2105 is the 3.1GHz version...
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

That Motherboard is for AMD A-series?? Big Grin

i3-2125 costs 179$ where I live... And 6550d smokes HD3000 when it comes to gaming, and HTPC for what I have read so far.
i3-2120 costs 145$, and I would be needing a discrete GPU no matter what Intel I choose, so HD2000/HD3000 doesn't matter.
Pentium G850 is only 99$ ! Should be similar/better than a8-3850 CPU-wise, and at that price I thought of going with this and discrete.
A8-3850 costs 135$ and A8-3870K 144$.

Any thoughts about my power consumtion concern??

If you are a hardcore gamer, non of the low power all-in-one CPU is for you. You'll be more happier with CPU+discrete GPU. The low power all-in-on CPU is great for HTPC, but not so good for gaming......

If you want a low power (65W) HTPC, the i3-2105 (3.1GHz+HD3000) is a great option. You should be able to playback blu-ray in full 1080P and bitstreaming HD with HD3000....

If you want to have powerful HTPC require a little more power, A8-3870K should server you well......
