You still need to use the same username and password from the other computer.
Example.
Machine A running windows 8 with shared folders containing media. XBMC 11.0
add local user *superman* separate from main microsoft account used to login give it admin rights full read and write access
dont *SWITCH* to local account create a new LOCAL account. hard to explain with out looking at it.
Machine B running windows 7 with XBMC 11.0
when connecting to the windows 8 box use the username used to share folders on the windows 8 machine which is *superman*
I am afraid to tell you the *HOMEGROUP* sharing in windows 8 will doit right.
I have 2 windows 7 boxes on a private netword and I right clicked on each folder and shared to the everyone group with full access.
I didnt use the homegroup sharing.
I am thinking that you may need to *SWITCH* to a local account ONCE to create another I am not sure. Why M4 did this i will never
know but you will need another LOCAL: account to make this work...
Oh security nuts will say this is a nono but I also have password authentication OFF. Heres a screen shot.
