Channel changing using UP/DOWN
#16
Maybe you can try this mce remote keymap
http://openelec.tv/forum/103-infared-rem...-for-users

if you press ok while watching livetv you will get a on screen channel list and then change channel by pressing ok.
And pressing epg while watching gives you on screen epg list. Real nice for pvr users

Do you think we should add an extra setting for it so that you can change the behavior for numeric input and up/down separately? Or do you think one setting to toggle all? Or maybe a dropdown with different options, like:

Confirm channel switch by pressing OK:
- disabled
- on numeric input
- on channel up/down
- always

What would you think/prefer?

nothing to add, that should cover all needs. In my opinion there definitly should be the option to seperate the settings for numeric input and up/down.

Personally I would want to press OK after entering numerically (incase of incorrect digit) & by up/down (so you can see what is on), just like a sky box

What you have above would be great as in my case "always" ticks the box!

Personally , and this will probably take a lot of work, I would like to see a mini epg appear when pressing up or down while watching live tv so that I can see what is on the different channels while the current program is still playing. From here I could either press ok to change the channel or backup to close the mini epg

Ghost5 and jonke

Your suggestions are redundant as this feature already exists. Just push 'c' in full screen video to bring up channel list...all you have to do is set that as a Kemap for your remote and you're good to go.

Da-anda,
What you suggest is PERFECT not only does it better define the current option, but it adds simplicity to the entire toggle . There will be a lot of future users that will cherish these small features.

I just pushed my first PullRequest (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1724 ) that allows to define a custom keymap when in fullscreen PVR playback. Thus you could easily map "enter" to toggle the channel list f.e.

As for the mini-epg - you should have this feature/effect with the option "confirm channel switch with OK" (once implemented for up/down) - thus pressing up/down will only trigger the info OSD witch channel-name/epg.

you already can map those things. But if you're referring to special keymaps when in fullscreen playback of liveTV then yes - just add a <FullscreenLiveTV> section to your keymap and go nuts Smile

Hi da-anda

I just downloaded nightly xbmc-20121107-92b2a1b-master-x86_64.dmg to take advantage of the new <FullScreenLiveTV> mapping mentioned in this thread. I have an apple remote and want holding down the menu button (ID 8) to bring up the channel list in live TV full screen. This isn't working using the FullScreenLiveTV tag but does work in the standard <FullscreenVideo>

Here is what my .xml file looks like: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=13997

Am I doing something wrong?
