Hi there,
I'm a near-complete linux noob. I have a Shuttle XS35GT V3 with the current build of XBMCbuntu Eden installed.
Today after hours of operation, the wireless simply stopped working. Here's what I know:
- when running XBMC from XBMCbuntu, wireless would periodically prompt me for password as it had disconnected
- while I was in XBMC, wi-fi disconnected entirely
- system tray icon shows the up and down arrows that indicate network connection, but chromium says I can't connect to the internet.
- In the right-click menu for that up and down arrow icon, neither "networking" nor "wireless" are enabled, and enablign them does nothing
- If I click "connection information" I get a dialogue box telling me "error displaying connection information: No valid active connections found"
- rebooting doesn't fix it
- I've made sure my NetworkManager.conf has "true" set for the value that means nm manages my connection.
- connecting via ethernet cable doesn't work either
I have literally no idea what caused this or how to fix it.
I know the done thing around here is that I type a bunch of stuff into terminal and report it to you, but don't even know what to type into terminal or how to get it to output to a file so I can copy-paste it to here.
Any help much appreciated!
