Newbie! Installed XBMC on Gen 1 APTV. Can't get XBMC to see my Shares
#1
Brand new to the forum and I just installed XBMC/Boxee on my Gen 1 APTV. I am trying to set up shares from my mac running the latest version of Mountain Lion and I can't get XBMC to see the shares. I have set all permissions on the Mac and while navigating through XBMC to Workgroup I see my Mac listed but when I click on it it just times out. Other shares on my network are working as they should through XBMC. I researched this a bit and I came up with a software called SMBUp. I am always leery of just DL random files so wanted to post here and ask for help. Is SMBUp the only way XBMC will see my Mac shares? Or is there another workaround?

Thank you!

SMBUp is safe. I use it myself. NFS Manager (wiki) is a good one too (and NFS in general is better than SMB for sharing media). You can also try this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1238692
