Affordable HDMI-CEC adapter
#1
Hi there,
I would like to have a mediaplayer, but no much money to spend. So I decided to turn my PC (an Asus laptop with a nvidia geforce 610m card) into a sort of HTPC. To do that I need an HDM-CEC adapter. I considered the pulseheight one, but it i incredibly expensive: 40 € + 10 € shipping, a complete Mele A2000 is about 80 $ = circa 60 € shipping included. does anyone know about an affordable HDMI-CEC adapter?
Thanks,
Gio

From what I hear the only other alternatives involve basically building one yourself. The Pulse Eight CEC adapter is the only (ready made) CEC adapter that I've seen.

Thanks. I considered a couple of alternatives: an IR device and iOS xbmc remote app (is really amazing, xbmc developers rock) and eventually went for the latter. HDMI-CEC is awesome and it is incredible how little is used.

I just saw that MCM has one, but I have not used it. It's available as a kit or the individual parts.

Not really the same thing. That looks to be more of an IR to CEC adapter, rather than a computer (USB) to CEC adapter.
