Win GPU acceleration not working anymore with FRODO
#1
Hello xbmc'ler,

since upgrading from version 11 to 12, my GPU acceleration doesn't seems to work anymore.

I have an Acer Aspire 722 with an AMD C60 APU and Windows 8 x64.
With v11 I was able to watch 1080p h264 movies totally smooth.
After upgrading to v12, I got round about 1-2 FPS.

So I was showing up the informations with the "o" hotkey. The CPU is round about 5%, so it looks like that xbmc is using GPU acceleration, but why I just get 1-2FPS?

I checked with VLC. Without GPU acceleration I also get 1-2FPS in VLC. But after activating the GPU acceleration in VLC, it shows very smooth (as in v11).

Other movies (as divx) runs good in v12. Its just the movies with hardware acceleration.

Any idea? (DXVA2 is activated)

Thanks alot!

Better to have a look at the sticky at the top of the board - 'How to trouble shoot audio' issues as these are usually as a result of incorrect audio settings.

You're using the HDMI out by the looks of it which can only do stereo LPCM audio, try the following:

Audio output: Analog
Speaker configuration: 2.0
Audio output device: WASAPI - HDMI

If that doesn't work try setting Audio output device: WASAPI - HDMI

Thanks that worked perfectly!

I dont know why its stuttering with 2.1 (as I have a 2.1 system). But the bass is also working with 2.0 so it doesn't matter.

Thaaaanks Smile

Your HDMI link says it only supports 2.0 audio so that is how XBMC must be set, any mismatch by setting higher than the HDMI link reports causes the stuttering. Your sound system likely takes the 2.0 from the HDMI in and probably applies a low pass filter to generate the sub channel thus giving the 2.1 sound.
