A GUI option to directly add ripped CD's to the library. See
this topic for inspiration. There is work already being done.

I'm interested, but I just don't know how to do any of that :)
I suppose a script/add-on could do something like this if XBMC gives some kind of feedback/trigger when ripping is done.

So this is not something for mainline XBMC but it should become an Addon? Then a trigger is indeed needed for an Addon to scan the new folder into the library.

The problem is that
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13400 has never been submitted as a PR as I understand. It was left and closed.

Either way need someone to take that forward, as is I dont mind running a scan, but if I didnt have to go though that extra step sure would be nice.
Maybe someone can take that forward, but unfortunately optical media gets little interest generally., I dont code so Im out.
