OS X Frodo 12.1 - problem video scaling method?
#1
Hi all,

I have a problem with video files that are not in 1080p
It is difficult for me to explain here. English is not my mother tongue.

In fact the 720p videos are 2.35 (black bars) I have a slight white line. At the junction of the black band (bottom) and the image.
I have no problem with Eden. Or with another player. I think it is a problem of scaling?

I made a screenshot available here : http://imagik.fr/view-rl/21559
This is valid for all videos that are not natively 1920x1080.

On some videos athypiques resolutions (1280x544 for example) I also have the problem right of the screen.

When do you think?

Turn off the vda hardware decoder in system->video->playback ... know issue we have not a clue why this happens (and it doesn't on our test macs).

hi,
thank you for your help.

After several tests with or without vda hardware decoder
I must say that you're right! the first time you found the problem! Bravo Smile
Without VDA I no longer have the problem. With VDA I have the problem.

Really strange. With EDEN + VDA everything worked.

Maybe a problem with my configuration?
I'm with a MacMini Core2Duo 2.4Ghz and Lion 10.7.5.

Post debug log (wiki) so we can see which gpu your mac has.

Hello,

I just did the test with another mini. Mini mid-2011 I5 2.5 Ghz + AMD Radeon (lion 10.7.5).
There has exactly the same problem with the VDA.

I'm sorry. I do not understand.

Want an example of what?
A short extract from a video a problem?

Yes, a snippet of the video that causes problem; maybe 50MB.

Ah ok I understand now Wink
I'll make an extract from a video.

But there is a problem on most 720p videos.

I made two extracted. They are relatively short. But we see the problem.
I see it perfectly on my TV and my PC monitor.
I can do other extracts if necessary.

VDA enabled when we can see the white line at the bottom or right. VDA disabled when everything is OK.

I repeat that I have no problems with Eden.

Thank you all Smile
