Solved Dropouts on music wav's
#1
Hi,

I installed Frodo rpm on Fedora 18 box, XBMC worked OK with these files on compiled "Eden".

I have switched to the M/B H/W from pulse - no improvement.

Googled & found some info about AE being at fault, is that correct and if so has anyone any idea as to when it will work as they are not playable for me atm!?

Are there any settings I could adjust for me to play audio files atm?

Thanks for your time

Logfiles please.

A whole lot pulse audio fixes were backported to 12.2 so make sure you are running this version.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Seems I need a later version:

[peter@study ~]$ rpm -q xbmc
xbmc-12.1-2.fc18.i686
[peter@study ~]$

Is there a 12.2 version rpm available, I can only find 12.1?
If not do I have to compile it from source. It would be a bit of a leap into the unknown but I have done it before.
I have had problems before when trying to do this after installing the same program and I had not removed all the old files!
Thanks

Regards

I have just found it in RPM Fusion for Fedora 18. Did a "yum update xbmc" and wav files play again!

Thanks
