I am trying to access my HDD connected to my APE but when i access Zerconfig i only get AFP and SAMBA.

I attempted to enter my IP address of my APE but i cant seem to get it to work.

Not sure if i am entering the wrong info but ill give you an idea

APE is called : Airport Airport

HDD is called : 1.5TB

Password for the device and wifi is the same : 123456

Not sure what i might be doing wrong or how i have this resolved.

And you want to use another protocol then Samba?

Samba in zeroconfig goes no where I can only use AFP.

Would I have to configure samba manually like I do with smb ?

You have to enter a username for the APE.

Also, SMB = Samba (more or less).

Do you see the hard drive in finder on your Mac? (I'm assuming you have a Mac). If you do, right click and get info and you should see the full path. Input that path in xbmc

I am able to see my hdd in finder ( yes i have a mac ) and I don't see the shared folder on my Hdd that Logan shared in his link.

Also I am able to access my Hdd from xbmc atv2 using AFP with occasional crash and access issue but I can't access it using Samba

I am using HFs+ 1.5tb seagate
Attached to AirPort Extreme 5th gen I have the disk shared using the device password ( should I change this setting ? )

I am working on setting up freenas but I would rather just use my AirPort Extreme as my nas rather than a computer.

Yes it was me and it worked amazing and I never had any issues with my xbmc but now I am on frodo 12.2

When I posted that I was on Eden v11.0 and that solution works great so I tried it again on frodo but I am not getting the same results as before.

I just want to know how to use samba from my AirPort Extreme, I m on afp protocol now with occasional crash and errors
