Can't startup new fresh install
#1
Hi, I'm a newbie in HTPC and XMBC. I'm trying install a new fresh XBMCBUNTU version on a notebook.
I tried install this versions:
  • xbmcbuntu-12.2.Intel-AMD.iso
  • xbmcbuntu-12.2.Intel-NVIDIA.iso
  • xbmcbuntu-12.00.Intel-AMD.iso
  • xbmcbuntu-12.00.Intel-NVIDIA.iso

All them present error on start up. the XBMC GUI doesn't load and keep trying start in a loop
To me all the errors log seems to be the same in all versions.
I resolve the errors about crystalhd but the XBMC keep in looping and doesn't load.

So I'm here, I need help to install and use XBMC.

my architecture:
i686

Here is my log file:

that GFX card is most probably unable to provide 3D acceleration via openGL.
I guess you're out of luck

This PC has an onboard video card. I can't use as HTPC?

If it is the logo loop where it keeps going to an x and the logo over and over you can most likely still access it from another computer with SSH
Then you can update what ever needs updating

Looks like the video card in that laptop doesn't have drivers in recent linux versions. Blame SIS, they are crap all round really.

Yes it may work with linux, but to make XBMC work it needs OpenGL hardware acceleration. Not all video card/driver combinations provide this.

I got some tutorials on the internet on how to install the drivers and run OpenGL graphics card with SIS.
As soon as I know something I notice.
