Crash on Startup
#1
Could someone tell me why this is happening. I've never had a problem before.

Here's my latest Crash Log

remove the log and use pastebin.com

besides this is not a proper crashlog/Debug Log

read: Debug Log

Thank you for your help.

Here's the link to the pastebin http://pastebin.com/RycsGHSY

However, how can I get a 'proper' log when XBMC crashes on startup?

You can add a <loglevel> entry to advancedsettings.xml to enable debug logging without having to go through the GUI: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=advancedsett...oglevel.3E

Done that. Thanks for your help.

Where do I find the log file. I'm using Linux.

did you even read the link Martijn gave you?

edit: you are running the open source nouveau driver, which doesn't work. Install proper nvidia binary drivers.

sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

No reason for that attitude wsnipex. Of course I read it but it wasn't clear to me which is why I asked the question. Please do not reply if you can't be supportive.

With regard to the nvidia binary drivers - Why would the drivers I have suddenly cause a problem? My XBMC system has been working fine for months and months!

However I will of course try your suggestion.

Why the attitude wsnipix. Forums are a place to share and give help aren't they?

Anyway, I tried your suggestion now XBMC doesn't load at all, I get an alert telling me "XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGL rendering"

Can anyone tell me how I rectify this.

Update: Ignore the above.

I reinstalled my drivers and did a reboot my screen is now in a higher resolution (for some strange reason) and I'm back to square one with XBMC. i.e. it crashes on startup.

I still need help finding the log file, any help would be much appreciated.
