24 PIN ATX connector
#1
hello
my HTPC project is suffering of space problems with a clash between the pico psu an the 3.5 hdd. by any chance anybody in the forum knows about the possibility of an adaptor that changes the 24 pin atx conn from its vertical position (perpendicular to the motherboard) to horizontal position (parallel to the motherboard), ie, a 90 deg female-male adaptor.
Looking forward to your assistance

You mean a short piece of wire with both adapters on it ? Just make one yourself.

Something like this might work: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6812200121

no wire extension, what I want is a plug adaptor that turns 90 deg. a wire extension implies that I have to have another place in the chassis to hold the pico.

Here you go: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9498
But you need to mount this directly on your mobo. How handy are you with a soldering iron?

OK, seen it before and this of course implies soldering work which I am not very eager to do on my brand new mother board http://forum.xbmc.org/images/icons/shocked.gif

Maybe I have to use a cable extension and attache the pico onto the chassis in a different place.

For forum users be aware: Streacom F7C with ASUS E2KM1IDELUXE you will trouble to fit your Pico due to clash with 3.5" HDD.

Thanks for the tips!
