I want to replace my current receiver to one that supports HD audio bitstreaming.

I will also need to replace my Geforce 8800 GTS DVI to HDMI with a HDMI enabled card.

Do all of the current Nvidia and Radeon cards support bitstreaming? Ideally I would like to be able to play some games so I need a fairly decent card.

What will your OS be? With Windows the answer is Yes.

With linux the answer is yes for Nvidia and a big no with AMD

don't support amd. I know you are using linux but amd's lack of linux support deserves nvidia getting your dollar.
