hello.

im using a terratec h5 hybrid tv tuner. with this tuner its possible to capture composite or svideo sources. what i want now is playback the captured content live in xbmc. somithing like an av input on tvs...
problem is, that the tv backends seem not to support this capturing input.
is there any possibilty to do so?

Media Portal and NextPVR both support analog capture cards. I am sure others do too.

its not about capturing the TV Signal, its abaout capturing the Composite/S-Video input...
As far as i know MP and NPVR only support the TV Tuner, not the A/V input.

Yes, I know.

MP supports A/V input. I used S-Video input from a STB many times.

In Media Portal TV Server Configuration:

On the capture cards set-up tab (in the TV Servers section) There is a button to add s-video channels. That is one method. You could also manually add a channel and map it to the card.

NextPVR also supports the Composite/S-Video inputs. A lot of people still use these inputs for capturing their TV from set top boxes.
