Apple Tv 2 XBMC freezing/crashing help
#1
Hi, this is my fist post so go easy!

I have just installed xbmx hub wizard editon on my apple tv2 but every time I try to find a live sports stream not only does it seem to take a lifetime to start, the stream also freezes and I have to re-boot via season pass as I have the tethered version.

Have I done something wrong here with installation or missed something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "hub wizard" is highly discouraged because it changes settings in such a way that can cause crashes and other issues.

As far as the video streams, we can't really help with add-ons that explicitly provide pirated content per our community forum rules (wiki). I will say this, content from shady places typically don't have a good connection, so there probably isn't anything you can do to improve the speed.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply. So if the hub wizard is unstable should I re-install? If so what is the most stable version.

I will update with my firmware etc later.

The apple tv 2 is software version: 5.3 (6105)

I have XBMC hub wizard 12.2

I actually boiught the apple tv and jailbroke it myself and I dont have any shsh blobs.

So what are my options? Start fresh? If so which version should I be installing and how?

First, do steps 5.1 and 5.2 of this: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...installing

Then do this: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW..._2#ATV_5.x

Which program do I use to do both of these steps on my macbook?

Mac OS X comes with a program called Terminal.app. If you search "Terminal" on spotlight in the upper right hand corner, then it should come up right away.

Ok, I have tried that but its not letting me enter the default password? I get as far as entering my apple tv ip address then it asks for password but its not letting me type it?

Passwords are hidden when you type them in terminal. Just press enter when you're done.

Ok, so figured that out about the hidden passwords.

Next issue is at the point of install it says this:

WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Install these packages without verification [y/N]?
E: Some packages could not be authenticated

And it does not let me select y to verify?

Then once I have completed the install process and reboot there is no XBMC on the atv2?
